About Us

Tom Pfleider, our founder, worked as a manufacturers rep with stereotactic pioneer Radionics for 18 years providing stereotactic systems and services to surgeons and hospitals in Southern California.  Tom spearheaded the placement of some of the initial image guided systems in the country and saw the technology progress from its infancy to the advanced systems META provides today.

In 2001, Tom partnered with Cbyon, a startup navigation system provider in the Silicon Valley, to work with him to implement his model of providing image guided surgery capability on a fee-per-use basis with tech support for each surgery. Two years later, Tom launched META Dynamic, Inc., a company designed to address the need for timely navigation access and extend the benefits of professional clinical support.

2022 starts a new era in the META story, with Tom’s son Evan as President. He and his proven management team will assure an ever growing presence in the navigation space.

Evan Pfleider serves as the President of META and is responsible for the growth and success of the company. After graduating from Cal State University Long Beach with a Management degree in 2007, Evan decided to forgo being a high paid sports agent and jumped into the family business. Evan and his management team have taken META’s success to a new level with a keen focus on spine navigation. In his 14-year+ career, he has provided support for over 3,000 navigated procedures specializing in cranial, ENT and spine surgery. In 2021, Evan led the effort to take the META model national with several new regional successes to his credit.

Evan resides in Long Beach, California and loves spending time with his wife, son and baby daughter. He enjoys cooking, eating Shabu Shabu, and rooting for the Dodgers and Minnesota Vikings. He also has an obsession with the band Phish and travels the country to see them perform.

Shaun Moore is our Vice President of Operations and is responsible for the domestic expansion and the operations at META. Shaun graduated with a degree in Business Economics from Cal State University Long Beach in 2008. After graduation, he relentlessly reached out to Tom Pfleider about a position at META to which Tom finally caved. Shaun has been with the company for 9 years now and has been in over 2500 navigated surgeries.

Shaun lives in Huntington beach with his wife and son. He loves to cook, play basketball, travel, watch sports and spend time with his family.

Brian Moore is our Director of Business Development and has over 10 years of sales and management experience in a variety of diverse industries. Brian spent the first ten years of his career in the finance industry helping companies raise money and find exits. Brian then joined META Dynamic as a clinical specialist, learning from the ground floor how important and detailed the clinical role needs to be while maintaining the highest standards of service in the OR.

During his first four years at META, he led the company with the most supported cases. Now as the Director of Business Development, he is tasked with always pushing the “technology envelope” in his work and finding new and innovative ways to increase sales and revenue while streamlining operations. Brian attended Long Beach State University studying Business Management.

Rick Christensen is our CFO/Corporate Controller and is responsible for financial, insurance, risk management and human resource matters. He brings 34 years of business management experience to META in construction, property management, agriculture and aviation. He holds an Airline Transport Pilots license and was a certified instrument flight instructor early in his career.

His greatest blessings in life are his wife Michelle, and their 25 children/grandchildren. He served Orange County youth as a volunteer leader in various capacities for over 30 years and received BSA’s distinguished Silver Beaver service award. Rick and Michelle have resided in the City of Orange for 42 years and are both members of Orange C.E.R.T.

He came to META because he saw an opportunity to help change lives for the better. Rick loves all music, sports, playing his guitar and enjoying the great outdoors with family and friends

Aaron Tea serves as the Regional Director of California, overseeing the day-to-day operations at our home state. He is also responsible for managing and improving META’s education program. Aaron graduated with a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Irvine in 2005. Instead of joining a research group at Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, Aaron chose to be a field Engineer at Brainlab Inc. After 12 years at Brainlab, he became a consultant at Paradigm Spine, before ultimately finding a home at META. Aaron has been with the company for 4 years and has over 16+ years of navigation experience.

Aaron lives in Los Angeles, California with his wife and son. He likes the outdoors; especially biking, hiking, and snowboarding. In addition to these activities, Aaron enjoys helping his community. He feels META gives him the opportunity to give back.
